 Registration is now open for the Claim Your Story Writing Conference on April 12 at Lithia Springs Resort, Ashland, Oregon

 When people attend a writers conference it’s usually to learn from pros, network and renew their creative spirit. The Claim Your Story Writing Conference on April 12 in Ashland, Oregon will provide those opportunities and also give writers an entrée into their next stories and a help them develop a writing practice. The conference curriculum aims to help writers produce work that is more vivid, true, and powerful than they’ve been able to create before.  We also help writers step up and tell their tales when they feel daunted or stuck.  Workshops will be taught by talented authors who are also distinguished writing teachers: Robert Arellano, Midge Raymond, and Jessica Morrell.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. -5 p.m.

 This spring’s keynoter is Ashland’s very own Robert Arellano, a Southern Oregon University Professor who is the recipient of a 2014 Oregon Literary Fellow. He is the author of six novels including the Edgar Award-finalist Havana Lunar (Akashic Books, 2009) and will hold the Leslie Bradshaw Fellowship in fiction for 2014.

 According to conference coordinator Jessica Morrell, “I’m thrilled to return to the Ashland area which is so renowned for the arts.  Claim Your Story is one of the best values going in southern Oregon. It allows accomplished and aspiring writers to plug in for a day with well-known authors and fellow writers.  Itwas launched to support writers and strengthen connections among the area’s diverse and talented writing community. Besides a line-up of helpful workshops and writing mojo, writers will have a chance to make real connections.”

 The Lithia Springs Resort in Ashland is an exceptionally charming setting in a charming city. Conference attendees will be able to tour the gardens and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.  Discount rates are available for conference attendees and include breakfast.
